# Consultations automations

What Consultations does by itself, from the daily switch of overdue consultations to Late to the to-dos given to lawyers, and how to stop each one.

Consultations runs one daily job and gives lawyers their to-dos by itself. The options are explained in [Set deadlines and automatic activities](set-deadlines-and-automatic-activities).

## Overdue consultations become Late {#late}

- **When:** once a day.
- **What it does:** every **Approved** consultation whose **Deadline** has passed becomes **Late**.
- **Back to Approved:** moving the deadline to a later date returns it to **Approved**.
- **How to stop it:** it cannot be switched off; it only follows the deadlines you set.

## A new consultation asks to be approved or rejected {#approve-reject-to-do}

- **When:** as soon as a consultation is created.
- **What it does:** each assigned lawyer who has a user gets an **Approve / Reject Consulting** to-do, due **Approve Within** days later. Approving or rejecting the consultation closes it.
- **How to stop it:** untick **Approve / Reject Consulting Activity** in the settings.

## An approved consultation asks to be drafted {#drafting-to-do}

- **When:** as soon as a consultation is approved.
- **What it does:** each assigned lawyer who has a user gets a **Drafting the Consultation** to-do, due **Draft Within** days later.
- **How to stop it:** untick **Drafting Consulting Activity** in the settings.

## Changing the lawyers moves their to-dos {#reassign}

When the lawyers of a consultation change, its open to-dos move to the new lawyers. This always happens and has no option.
