# Executions automations

What Executions does by itself, from the reminder of open files lawyers receive to the to-do after a suspension and the e-mails sent to clients, and how to stop each one.

Executions runs one daily job, and sends a to-do and e-mails by itself as a file moves forward. The options are explained in [Executions settings](executions-settings).

## Reminder of open files {#reminder}

- **When:** the job runs once a day, and sends the reminder every **Remind Every** days (3 by default), counted from the day the last one went out.
- **What it does:** each lawyer who has a user and an execution that is not finished receives an e-mail listing those executions.
- **How to stop it:** untick **Auto Reminders**.

## A suspended execution waits to be resumed {#re-execution}

- **When:** as soon as an execution is suspended.
- **What it does:** each of its lawyers who has a user gets a to-do to resume it, due after the number of **Days** set under **Re-execution Activity**.
- **How to stop it:** untick **Re-execution Activity**.

## E-mails to the client {#client-emails}

| When | E-mail | Turned on by |
|---|---|---|
| The execution changes state | The template chosen for the new state | **State Change Emails** |
| A new enforcement procedure is recorded | The procedure template | **Procedure Emails** |
| A new decision is recorded | The decision template | **Decision Emails** |

All three are off by default; a state without a template sends nothing.
