# WhatsApp in the legal apps

The ready-made WhatsApp templates of client requests, consultations, contracts, executions and agencies, when each one is sent and to whom, and the setting that switches it.

Besides cases, five legal apps come with ready-made WhatsApp templates as soon as WhatsApp and the app are both installed: twenty messages that confirm a client's request, follow a consultation, carry a contract through its signatures to its end, report on an execution and warn before an agency expires. Each one has a switch in **WhatsApp/Configuration/Settings**, a group per app; a switch works as [WhatsApp in cases](whatsapp-in-cases#switches) explains. Cases, hearings and judgments have their own page, [WhatsApp in cases](whatsapp-in-cases).

Messages reach the phone number of each person's contact (for a lawyer, the contact of the lawyer's user), in that contact's language; every ready-made template is written in English and Arabic. To change a text, click the template's name under its switch, or see [WhatsApp templates](whatsapp-templates). UTC 08:00 and 09:00 are 11:00 and 12:00 in Riyadh.

## Client requests {#client-requests}

![The client-request messages; only the alert to the lawyers is on at installation.](https://jaah.app/web/image/13478-c43dc54c/whatsapp-whatsapp-in-legal-apps-client_request_switches-en.png)

The requester is the request's **Client Profile**; while it is empty, the contact whose phone number matches the request's **Phone**. When neither exists, the requester gets no message. The team alert goes to the **Default Lawyers** of the client profile, else to the **Default Lawyers** of the client-request settings, explained in [Prepare the intake of client requests](/docs/law-base/prepare-client-requests).

## Consultations {#consultations}

![The consulting group; the supervisor's list waits for a Supervisor to be chosen.](https://jaah.app/web/image/13482-8d928f7d/whatsapp-whatsapp-in-legal-apps-consulting_switches-en.png)

The two lists work as the neglected-cases lists of [WhatsApp in cases](whatsapp-in-cases#digests), with their own **Inactive threshold (days)**, **Supervisor** and **State filter**, from the job **Law Consulting: WA Inactive Consulting Followup (daily 9:00)**. No supervisor is chosen at installation.

## Contracts {#contracts}

![Ticked, Expiring Soon shows the reminder fields it shares with the contracts settings.](https://jaah.app/web/image/13486-eea51044/whatsapp-whatsapp-in-legal-apps-contract_expiring-en.png)

Ticking **Expiring Soon** shows its fields: **Per-company auto reminder** must be on, and **Reminder before (Day)** sets the window, 30 days by default. These are the fields of the contracts' own email reminder, so a change here changes both; see [Contracts settings](/docs/law-contract/contracts-settings). The message leaves on the day a contract enters the window, or up to seven days later after a missed run; a contract already inside the window on the first run gets none. **Internal recipients** under **Client Signed (Internal)** are contacts: fill it before relying on this message, since only the first contact listed receives it and, while it is empty, the message goes to the contract's client.

## Executions {#executions}

![The execution group; the client's status update is off, the two lists are on.](https://jaah.app/web/image/13490-83ff4c5d/whatsapp-whatsapp-in-legal-apps-execution_switches-en.png)

The lists follow the same rules as the consultations', from the job **Law Execution: WA Neglected Executions Digest (daily 9:00)**. The ready-made text of **Execution: Status Update** speaks of "your case": change the template if your clients expect another word.

## Agencies {#agencies}

![The agency group; the agents' list is sent every 7 days.](https://jaah.app/web/image/13494-f40be7cc/whatsapp-whatsapp-in-legal-apps-agency_switches-en.png)

**Send digest every (days)** sets both the pace of the agents' list and the days it looks ahead, 7 by default. An agent is a contact of the agency; one without a phone number gets nothing. **Agency Status Update** is switched on but never sends: an agency's status is worked out from its dates each time it is read and is never saved, so the change this message waits for never happens.

## FAQ {#faq}

### Why did the requester receive nothing? {#requester}

**Request Received** and **Request Decision** are off at installation. Once on, a request needs a client profile, or a phone number that matches a contact.

### Can contracts get a WhatsApp button like cases? {#button}

Yes: tick **Show on Form** on a template made for contracts, as [WhatsApp templates](whatsapp-templates) explains. Without it, the WhatsApp button of the contract's chatter sends any message; see [Send from any record](send-from-any-record).

### Does each company have its own switches? {#companies}

No: a switch serves the whole database. The thresholds, supervisors, reminder days and digest pace belong to the current company.
