Banks, cash and currencies
The company's bank accounts and cash boxes in Accounting: transactions typed by hand, statements that check the balance, payments matched with their invoices, and exchange rates fetched every day from public sources such as central banks.
Tutorial 1
The first minute with the bank
Open the screens of the money side of Accounting, the bank and cash cards, the transactions, the items still open, the currencies and the rate providers, and learn what each one shows before changing anything.
How-to 5
Record bank transactions
Type the deposits and the payments of the bank account or the cash box in the transactions list, one line each, with their date, label, partner and amount, then find those that still wait for their match.
Group transactions into a statement
Put the transactions of a period into one bank statement with the starting and ending balances the bank printed, check that they add up, and print the statement as a PDF.
Match payments and invoices
Link a payment recorded on its own to the invoice it settles, from the invoice or from the open journal items, write off a small difference, and see where bank transactions stand today.
Keep currency rates up to date
Activate the currencies you work with, order the public sources that fetch their rates every day, fill in past dates, and read the log of every run when a rate is missing.
Banks, cash and currencies settings
The options of the Accounting settings that concern the bank, cash and currencies, in plain words, from the automatic update of exchange rates to the suspense, transfer and exchange difference accounts.
