Cases automations
On this page
Cases gives lawyers their to-dos as a case moves forward, and runs three daily jobs. The options are explained in Cases and hearings settings. The to-dos go to lawyers who have a user in the system.
To-dos that follow a case
| When | What the lawyers get | Due | Turned off by |
|---|---|---|---|
| A case is created | "Review and audit the case" | Review Within days later | Review and Audit Case Activity |
| A first-instance judgment is lost | A to-do for the appeal deadline, on the case | Objection Within days after the judgment | Objection Activity |
| An appeal judgment is lost | A to-do for the deadline to challenge it, on the case | Revoke Within days after the judgment | Revoke Activity |
| A hearing is saved without requirements | "Prepare hearing requirements" | Prepare Requirements days before the hearing | Prepare Hearing Requirements Activity |
| The requirements of a hearing are written | A to-do to write the session and close the hearing | The hearing date | Write Session / Close Hearing Activity |
Daily jobs
Tomorrow's hearings by e-mail
- When: once a day.
- What it does: each lawyer receives an e-mail listing their hearings of the next day.
- How to stop it: it sends nothing while Tomorrow Digest is off, which it is by default.
Closing to-dos of closed hearings
- When: once a day.
- What it does: a hearing closed while its "write the session and close the hearing" to-do was still open gets that to-do marked done, so the lawyers' planners hold only what is left to do.
- How to stop it: it has no option; it only tidies to-dos that no longer have a purpose.
Numbering old hearings
- When: never by itself; it is off by default.
- What it does: it gives a number to hearings that have none, oldest first. It serves once, after hearings were brought in from another system without their numbers; an administrator runs it from the scheduled jobs when needed.
